Dear Middle School Parents and
Students:
While our students have been on
their summer vacation which began on Friday, June 4, some of our Middle School
Students were involved in the one-week Baseball Camp which was held the week of
June 14 through the 18th; some of our Middle School students attended the
four-week Academy Summer School program from June 21 through July 16th;
some of our Middle School students have attended the Summer Day Camp here at
the Academy, the last day of the Summer Day Camp being Friday, July 30;
and some of our Middle School students have taken the opportunity to attend the
Duke TIP Summer Studies program. I certainly hope that all of our Middle School
students have been actively involved in participating in activities that
increase their academic knowledge, have increased their skill knowledge of an
activity, or just have given them some fun things to do. It is hard to believe
that over 6 weeks have passed since students were dismissed on the last day of
the 2009-2010 school year.
The 2010-2011 school year will
begin within 5 weeks with the first day of school being Monday, August 23. The

The Middle School students should
feel very comfortable with the faculty and staff who will be working with them.
Mr. Kyle Clapper is the only new faculty member who will be working with our
Middle School division students and after interviewing with him at the end of
the last school year, I know that he will be a very positive addition to our
school community. The faculty and staff of the Middle School are very excited
about the 2010-2011 school year. We have all the makings of an excellent school
year ahead of us!
