MONTVERDE WINS THE Hi-Q CHAMPIONSHIP!
Yesterday at Leesburg High School, Montverde Academy won the 2010 Hi-Q Championship of Lake and Sumter counties for the 2nd year in a row by defeating Leesburg and Tavares, the 2nd and 3rd Place teams. The scores were as follows:

Tavares HS 72
Montverde easily dominated league competition this year by outscoring league teams by big margins and ended the season with a 16-0 record. The Total Points Standings which determines the league championship were as follows:

South Lake High School withdrew from the league after the 5th week due to unknown reasons.
This year completes the 7th year that Montverde Academy has competed in the Lake-Sumter Hi-Q League and since the 2003-04 school year against the other 9 schools in the league, MVA has never placed lower than 3rd Place in the league. This year marks the 3rd time in competition that MVA has won the Championship (the other two years were 2006 and 2009).
The team members are: Alex Synovec (Grade 12), Chris Bow (Grade 12), Kelly Jenkins (Grade 12), Yi "Samantha" Shen (Grade 12), Jee Eun "Elizabeth" Joo (Grade 12), Jonas Dye (Grade 11) and Kaya Gaudet (Grade 10).
