The MVA Hunter/Jumper Team spent a week of fun at the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort in Wiersdale, FL (near The Villages) August 11-15.  Activities included trail riding, swimming, and a scavenger hunt.  We closed the week by participating in a show hosted by Horse Shows In The Park.  This particular event included over 60 competitors among 20 divisions at different skill levels.  The results are as follows:

Molly Callaghan aboard Code of Silence (aka Cody) performed in the Pleasure and Crossrails divisions.  The Pleasure division challenged the rider and horse in various gaits while the Crossrails division was judged on the rider and horse performance over 18" jumps.  In the Pleasure they earned two 1st places and a 3rd.  In the Crossrails they earned a 1st and a 2nd.

Grace Carpenter aboard Tribute performed in the Dressage Suitability, 2' Jumpers, and 2'6" Jumpers divisions.  Dressage Suitability is judged on various skills in all gaits and Jumpers is judged on speed and strategic course performance.  In Dressage they earned three 2nds.  In 2' Jumpers they earned a 3rd place and in 2'6" they earned a 4th place.

Grace Carpenter aboard Cracker Boome (aka Cracker) performed in the 2' Jumpers and 2'6" Jumpers.  They earned a 4th and a 2nd respectively.

Justin Caprenter aboard Finglebridge Fearless (aka Finn) performed in the Modified 2'3".  This division included under saddle classes (non-jumping) and jumping classes.  They earned two 5th places, a 4th, and a 3rd.

Madeline Devine aboard Daddy's Major Promise (aka Major) performed their last show on the team showing off their skills in the Pleasure division.  They earned a 2nd and two 3rd places.  Now a graduated senior of MVA, Madeline and Major have relocated to Gainesville to attend college together at the University of Florida.

Samantha Lafferty aboard Absolut Risk performed in the Modified 2'3" division.  Having been away on vacation for most of the summer and unable to practice much this pair proved that they didn't lose their touch by earning a 3rd, three 4th places, a 5th, and a 6th.

Deborah Wade and Hunter/Jumper Trainer Jennifer Thompson performed collectively aboard Patriotism (aka PT).  Deborah performed on Saturday in the Dressage Suitability, Pleasure, and Modified 2'3" divisions.  In Dressage they earned two 1st places.  In Pleasure they earned a 1st, a 2nd, and a 4th.  In Modified they earned a 1st.  Jennifer Performed on Sunday in the Open Hunter 2'6" division earning three 2nds.
